solutions directly on the Apple App Store.
The process is very simple. You will use the award winning FMTouch Engine to
power your FileMaker database, join the mobile revolution today. The FMTouch enterprise license will enable you to create a FileMaker database and then sell that database as an iPhone application. This is a tremendous opportunity to market your product to the world.
There are Four Simple Steps to Begin:
The Annual Enterprise Solutions
License Includes:
* The 5 complimentary FMTouch seats are
available to be installed using the ad-hoc distribution method only,
you will need a fully setup Apple account in order to get this
running. FMWebschool will not reimburse purchases of the regular
FMTouch on the app store by you or your team as part of this program.
Cost of FMTouch Enterprise Licensing
FMTouch Enterprise
Licensing annual membership costs $1275 USD. The annual membership
allows access to our app bundling systems, it is not a requirement to
continue selling existing FMTouch Enteprise Bundled solutions on the
app store. Your app will stay available on the Apple app store as long as you renew your Apple Developers license each year.
Availability of FMTouch Enterprise Licensing
FMTouch Enterprise
Licensing is scheduled to go live on Sep 1st, 2009. We are currently taking signups for the first 30 people and they will have access to the system as soon as it goes live.

FMTouch Enterprise Solution:
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why are you limiting signups to
30 developers?
A: Getting a group of developers
running with Apple systems and being able to answer support questions
individually is a time consuming process. We want to get it right the
first time around with a manageable group of developers. In the
future this group might be expanded, however for now it is remaining
exclusive to the first 30 developers that sign up. This first 30 will have the exclusivity of being the rist to submit and sell their FileMaker solutions directly on the app store.
Q: Will you put my application on
the App Store?
A: We will help you with the submission process but ultimately it will be you submitting the app under your account. We will help you with the verbage, and let you know EXACTLY what you need to submit the ap. There are quite a few steps involved and you will need to develop the necessary graphics to develop your app. We can help with graphic artists for this part too - such as the logo and your icon that will display on the app store and the iPhone.
Q: I am sending my database, could
you please submit it to the App Store?
A: We only provide a build of your
database bundled with the FMTouch engine. It is your responsibility
to use your Apple developer account to submit the application to the
App Store and go through the Apple approval process. We cannot
guarantee success with the approval process for your app, however
typically a couple visual changes will allow you to resubmit and get
the app approved. The main thing is UI and we will discuss the formats that Apple requires for Human Interface Design.
We've been through this process about 25 times so we will be able to give you insight as to the functionality and design requirements that will make Apple happy.
Q: Are there any continuous
royalties that I have to pay to FMWebschool?
A: FMWebschool just provides bundling
and consulting services for the FMTouch engine. We do not collect royalties from
your sales, and will not consider giving discounts for this program
on the basis of future royalties. We do not have the infrastructure
in place to monitor sales from your iTunes account and to keep things
simple we just supply the application for you to sell. This way you collect all income from the sales of your app.
Apple does collect 30% of the total profits.
Q: Will I be able to publish my
application without the App Store?
A: With a regular developer account you
can send your app to up to 100 predefined devices using the adhoc
distribution method. The Enterprise Apple Account which requires at
least 500 employees and costs $299 can allow more devices as long as
the app is only used internally within the enterprise.
Q: What happens after the annual
FMTouch Enterprise membership expires?
A: After the expiration you will not be
able to update your applications or request new builds of it from the
system. You will still be able to sell it on the App Store as long as
you keep paying Apple their annual membership. You only need a
membership for FMTouch Enterprise Solutions if you want to update
your database. We are working on a yearly pricing renewal program now.
Q: Will I be able to get more than 3
applications selling on the app store?
A: Once the program begins and we have
the first few applications through it, we are going to finalize the
details on the number of applications allowed. We suspect that this number will increase as everyone becomes more familiar with the system and there is less involvment through the initial stages with us.
Q: How many updates can I build for
my app?
A: As long as the update does not
involve an app name / identifier change you can build unlimited
updates of the app as long as your annual membership remains active.
We do not count updates to the same application as new apps as long
as the name remains the same.
Q: Why the cost of $1275?
A: The cost not only covers the time we will spend working with you and getting your application listed on the iTunes store but it also covers us helping with the marketing of your product and the development of the automated bundling solution that will allow you to rapidly create legitimate iTunes applications.
Imagine trying to code all of this yourself or having to hire someone to code this application for you. It could take weeks, plus cost thousands of dollars, and then you still would have to learn how to submit your application and design all the graphics etc. We help you with all of this. Once you submit your app it will be instantly converted into an iTunes application. We will help you through the entire process providing you with a blueprint of the graphics you need, testing your app, and networking you with the group of other 30 developers.
The great thing is the potential - suddenly you have millions of people on the iTunes store looking at Apps so the potential is great! You will also be able to provide your services to prospective clients as well as link all of these people back to your wwebsite. This will GREATLY enhance your web traffic.
Q: Do you have any other information about how apps are approved?
A: Here is an inside look at some of the inner-workings of the Apple App store
